What's going on, dude?

At the risk of sounding repetative: We're not dead!!

No matter how much we would love to record (believe you me, we would) we just don't have enough time to spare these days - not even to record one little short show.

Ah, who are we kidding? "Little", "short"? Those are not words that one would find in our vocabulary.

But all jokes aside, we really haven't had much downtime this fall. When they say "full time studies" they're not kidding...

We apologize and will be back as soon as possible. Things have happened that we'd gladly yap about.

We love you all!

Ch-ch-changes

I am so hung up on David Bowie lyrics as titles/subjects/captions nowadays.

After contemplating the future structure of the radio, we have decided that the seasons will be dropped. Instead there will be more or less irregular updates - interviews will be the main reason for episodes from here on (so not necessarily the only reason). During times when we've got a lot going on, you can expect more episodes. When things are calmer and nothing happens, we will spare your ears and not be 'forced' to yap about what we ate for breakfast, simply because that is the most interesting event that week.

With the new structure, we hope that the radio will be refined in a way, with a lot of nonsense cut out and instead more focus on what our listeners are interested in.

New year, new ways. You can expect a lot of interesting things from Chucow Radio in 2009!

The Making of Yankee in a Chip Shop is finally up on the Matches' YouTube (and Chucowski Productions' YouTube):

Extra episode?

Posted by chucow at 04:12 AM on November 26, 2008 Comments comments (0)

Think it's time for an update...

As you have noticed, we didn't record a new episode last weekend. We will do so this weekend - it was set out to be our season finale. But will it be...?
The answer is: No, probably not. We are in the middle of some new plans (involving some very awesome people) and thus, we will most likely have one more episode than first planned for this season. The details are not completely finished yet, so we're not sure of exactly when this extra episode would be. We will let you know, as far as we have details planned, this weekend when we record our tenth episode.

If you're in Nashville (or, let's say, all of the US - come on, you can travel a bit), you should check out The Hollywood Kills this Friday at the Exit/In. Details are on their MySpace page.

Last but not least - happy birthday Jon Devoto! Now it is also one year ago that the music video for YIACS was shot. While I'm at it, I might as well let you all know that the "making of" is no longer in my hands - Shawn's got it now and it's up to him to feed the masses. I can't tell you when it will be out, so ask him instead...

You're not blind

You can stop harrassing your eye doctor, you have not gone blind. We can't speak for all of you, but perhaps that is the conclusion you have drawn when you haven't seen any updates.
The simple answer is that we haven't updated. Sure, things have happened, but we sometimes forget that we can write as well as talk.

As you must know by now (if not, maybe you are blind after all) we interviewed the wonderful guys in The Hollywood Kills about a week ago.
The interview itself isn't abnormally long, but the chatting continued long after we had run out of questions, as well as hours of the day and phone service range.
So for your amusement we will in the remaining episodes of the season play bits and parts of the conversation. We assure you, you will not be bored. These boys have a great sense of humor. If they weren't extremely talented musicians already, they could go on tour as stand-up comedians.

And as usual, with your two Chucow hosts involved there will be some bickering. That's just part of our charm. But we're still percious! Ask Brandon.

If that wasn't enough for you, the guys have so kindly sent us three exclusive demos that will only be heard on Chucow Radio. You do not want to miss that.

Stay tuned for more updates - we will try to make them more recurring.

Deuce Management & Promotion

Here's the update we promised about Deuce and their call for bands and artists:

Deuce Management & Promotion has recently collaborated with Ricall; the world's largest online music licensing marketplace.

Based in London and New York , Ricall works alongside major and independent record labels, music companies and unsigned acts connecting their music to over 5000 registered companies.  These companies represent tens of thousands of brands who are actively looking for music to licence for use in their commercial productions from brand sponsorship to adverts, mobile phones to games, TV programmes to films, and websites to in-store audio.

Ricall and Deuce Management & Promotion are now looking for the very best in unsigned and emerging talent worldwide to be included on the Ricall database and be considered for various forms of exposure.  Benefits for bands and artists licensed via Ricall include amongst others:

    * Receiving payment for your material to be included in commercial productions
    * Having your music promoted to relevant companies through promo folders on the Ricall website
    * Potentially having your music listened to by millions of people worldwide

This is a fantastic opportunity for acts to increase their profile and also receive payment with all bands and artists registered with Deuce Management & Promotion guaranteed inclusion on the Ricall database free of charge.

For an additional £5.00 per track, bands and artists can also be tagged alongside established bands.  This option benefits unsigned acts if companies are searching for music similar to recognised bands material.  For example, if a company requests a Coldplay track for an advert but cannot afford the fees required, they can listen to similar styles of music tagged to Coldplay which may result in your material being selected.

For information on registering with Deuce Management & Promotion, send an email to chucowradio@yahoo.com and we will give you further instructions.

Further information on Ricall can be found on their website www.ricall.com.

Chucow Radio and Deuce look forward to hearing from you!

Hey! New episode up on the main page! But I'm sure you've already listened to it, otherwise you wouldn't be here in the news right now. Right?

As promised, I'm gonna link to my new obsession - the webcomic Questionable Content by Jeph Jacques. It's pretty awesome. Here are a few of my favorites. I strongly advise you to click the links - all three of them!

Number 546: Arbitrarily Named Comic Strip

Number 720: Random Encounter!

Number 1187: Shamegasm

Enjoy!

Back for a 4th season

Posted by chucow at 10:16 AM on September 16, 2008 Comments comments (0)

It shan't have been possible to not have noticed that there is a brand new episode on the main page of the website. But in case you did miss it, we're letting you know now:
THERE'S A BRAND NEW EPISODE ON THE MAIN PAGE!!!

You can absolutely not have missed that we have re-arranged the entire website. And the links have also been updated. This time around, we will keep them as fresh as we possibly can. This is the brand new Chucow Radio, people.

And don't forget to, after you have listened to the episode yourself (once, twice, fifteen times...), tell your friends to do the same. You - and they - won't regret it.
Your ears will be blessed with tunes from The Hollywood Kills, The Matches and Mowglee.

Feel free to once again post the banner anywhere you like, and link back to this site.

Getting to know Dylan Rowe

Getting to know Dylan Rowe

No rhyme intended...

If you haven't heard the news already; we've managed to snag an interview with the Matches' newest member, Dylan Rowe. As you all know (or maybe you don't), he will take Justin San Souci's place after Justin decided to leave the band to pursue other things. But as blogged before - Justin will always remain our official co-mascot, even if he is no longer with the band.

Back to the interview.
It is now up on the MySpace music player for everyone to listen to. And just to clear up a few things:

We did not make a "spur of the moment"- phone call and accidentally wake him up. This was planned, our dear Dylan just forgot. Forgetting seems to be a trait of his.

The person laughing at the beginning is Jon Devoto. To get in touch with Dylan we had to make some drastic decisions, which lead to calling Jon since the person we were really looking for didn't pick up.

When asking about the Olympics, I was being sarcastic. Of course I wasn't implying that he wouldn't know what it was. (This is to clarify things for those of you who might not get this kind of humor.)

Of course the interview has been edited; the full version would have been far too long. We decided to cut out all the "unnecessary small talk", seeing as not many people are likely to be interested.

The interview will also be in one of the upcoming episodes, alongside some "behind the scenes" talk about what else was said.
A promo has been recorded and will be up shortly along with the other ones by the very nice people whom we have interviewed.

Don't forget to tune in September 13th, when season 4 starts. We have lots planned.
